All of these resources (except one!) are available from home, but require a login and password for access.
Stop in the City High Library for the logins and passwords.
Iowa AEA Online Databases: User must have a login and password for off campus access.  
  • EBSCOhost offers indexing for and full-text articles from hundreds of magazines and newspapers. Our subscription provides access to several different databases.
  • SIRS provides articles selected from magazines and newspapers. All of the articles are full-text.

  • Britannica Online is a comprehensive web-based encyclopedia.  It also has the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, and Britannica's Internet Guide.  
  • CultureGrams Concise information about 182 countries including maps, statistics, and information on history,  customs lifestyles and even recipes. 

  • Teen Health & Wellness provides up-to-date information on a variety of health topics, including diseases, drugs and alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, sexuality and sexual health, and more.
  • Wilson Biographies is a reference source containing thousands of biographies.  Included are all the articles from Current Biography, the Wilson Author Series, and other biographical references. 

 

  • Gale Collection covers literature and authors, biography, science, and history.  It includes biographies, topical overviews, critical analyses, plot summaries, events, and media elements.

 

  • SIRS Decades offers cultural and historical information about America in the 20th century.  Search by keyword or subject. 

 

  • Discover is a career and college exploration program.  Before you may access the program, you must have a librarian or counselor set up an account for you.  You will be given a login to use.

 

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives.
  • AP Multimedia Archive is a searchable database of AP photos from the 1840s up to minutes ago!  It also includes graphics, charts, tables, text, and audio clips. 

 

  • iClipart for Schools is a searchable database of 7.8 million clip art images, photos, fonts and sounds.

 

  • Atomic Learning is an electronic help desk to assist you with your favorite software programs.  Have a question about Excel or PowerPoint or Word?  Check out this site. 

  • Learn 360 Learn360 is an interactive media-on-demand service for the K-12 educational market that provides educators and students the power to meet and exceed 21st century educational expectations across all curriculums. Through streaming video, audio and accompanying support materials, Learn360 supports web-based learning by providing an online collaborative environment where users can share information and ideas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

  • Soundzabound is a database of copyright safe sound effects and music.
  • Nettrekker d.i.is a online resource educational tool that connects students and educators to over 300,000 educator-approved digital resources that support the complete k-12 curricula and 21st learning skills.
