Community Reading Month has enjoyed great success in the past due to the collaboration of its sponsors and the enthusiasm of the community at large. Please join us once again for this year’s celebration. It is a time to nurture the love of reading, share favorite books and become immersed with reading throughout the Iowa City area. The centerpiece of Community Reading Month is the author-in-residence program. This year, Mary Jane and Herm Auch willl visit with 3rd and 4th grade students throughout the district during the week of October 17. Look for the special t-shirt being worn by all of our 3rd and 4th graders this fall. We are most appreciative for continued sponsorship of this program from the Hills Bank and Trust Company, the ICCSD Foundation, and the Iowa City Community School District. Community Reading Month is a unique reading event that affects people of all ages. Let’s continue to nurture and celebrate the love of reading! This page was last updated on September 07, 2011. |
