Thinking of Taking a PSEO UI Class?Students and parents of students interested in taking a course at the University of Iowa during the Fall semester under the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act (PSEO) are invited to attend an informational meeting at the University of Iowa on Monday, February 8 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at W-151 John Pappajohn Business Building. A map is posted on the Guidance Office. Meetings at West High to distribute paperwork and discuss procedures will be held the week of February 22nd. Watch the announcements for more details. |

Iowa City Community School District Healthy Kids Act 2009
|

Beginning July 1, 2009, school districts must ensure that physically able pupils in grades seven through twelve shall engage in physical activity for a minimum of 120 minutes per week in which there are at least five school days of school. The school will work with 7-12th grade students to develop a written agreement that will list the types of physical activity and duration of these activities during the school year. The written physical activity agreement must meet the requirements. For more information, read here> In Advisory, all students will be given a form that will need to be completed and signed by the student, parent, and school staff. Students will need to return the signed form this week in the West Wing Office, the Main Office or the Guidance Office. |

PowerSchool is our new web-based student data system that allows you to see your child’s attendance and current grades. We have distributed student and parent log-ins and passwords for Power School as well as instructions on how to access the web site. You will have a separate log-in for each child you have at West High. If you have not received your login credentials, please contact the West High School Main office. PowerSchool Log-In Here... The three local public libraries are offering Live Online Homework Help in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. The websites are: Help is offered in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English. The Live Help is offered Monday thru Thursday 4-11pm; Saturday 2-5pm; and Sunday 4-10pm. |
