Every adult in the building facilitates a
group of 10 students from all grade levels. These groups meet once a month
to read a book and discuss how the book relates to our building theme for
the year which is Dream, Dare, Do!
One goal of “All Shimek Reads” is to create resiliency in our students by
providing this opportunity for students to feel they are connected to each
other, the staff and what they are learning. We want them to know they are
an important part of our community. Our Dream, Dare Do! theme will teach
students to appreciate other’s dreams and accomplishments. Using books
representing many cultures and diverse personalities we will celebrate how
everyone can make our world richer and stronger. These books and discussions
will give students inspiration to make our school and world a better place.
All Shimek will be from 8:40 – 9:00 on the following dates (Fridays)
Each group will read and discuss the following
books during the year.

The books for this program are generously
