Hills Family Resource Center

Family, School, and Community Growing Stronger Together

Mission

Hills Family Resource Center strives to ensure that all students and their families have the needed support to be successful at school and as community members.

Services:

We provide advocacy, listen to parent concerns, facilitate parent involvement in school activities and help with school related issues.  Additionally, we help families with locating resources, such as clothing, childcare, counseling, evaluations and health care.

Home Visits:  Hills Family Resource Center offers support to K-6 children and parents through home visits. Support may involve assistance accessing resources, providing parenting information, and advocacy.

Parents with children birth-age 5 may be eligible for the Johnson County Empowerment Parent Support Program. This free home visit program offers information on child development, assists with parenting questions and accessing resources if needed.

Parent/adult Library: Parents can access books and materials covering a variety of topics including parenting, child development, and related information. Flyers and resource materials on similar and additional topics are also available for parents to take home.

Special Programs:  The Hills Family Resource Center offers special programs for parents and/or families throughout the school year.  Most programs are offered in the evening and include meals and children's programming. Parents are notified through the Hills Highlights of all upcoming programs.

Family Nights are held every Thursday from 5:30-7:00 PM.  Dinner is served from 5:30-6 PM with an hour of activities following dinner.  Activities may include games, arts and crafts, computer lab, science experiments, and sports.  All family members are invited to attend.
